The MANE as a legitimate mechanism of student representation, 2011 - 2012

This article shows the cyclical process on the National Students Wide Table (or MANE), which emerges as a student resistance against the reform that the Santos Government proposes to make to the law 30 of 1992. This law is the one that structure the higher education in Colombia. The MANE is a social movement of student representation. He has achieved legitimacy for the use of new forms of peaceful demonstration and gained strength nationwide, increasing their chances of influencing Colombian politics. Within this movement, were two moments: the first linked to the student resistance and the second concerning the creation of a new legislative proposal for education.
