In the keynote address delivered at the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women, held at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, in June 2002, Joan Wallach Scott deliberates about the feminist analytical power. Utilizing a critical interpretation the author applies these logical analyses to the crisis activated by war against terrorism, the history of women and gender, and to global and local knowledge; being this last one the subject of the conference. Using the reverberation concept –related to events echoing, theories, strategies, etc., that travel in space and time producing effects– the author unify her reflections on such as diverse topics.
